A survey shows that Asian firms need longer trading hours

The growing internationalization of Asian derivatives trading means exchanges should alter their trading hours to meet this growing demand, according to a survey by research firm Acuiti. The research firm found strong demand for extended trading hours across 100 firms in the EMEA and Asian regions, with the strongest demand reported in Asia. Of the firms based in the region, 44% traded extended hours, with 26% of the remainder reporting significant demand for the option. As several exchanges have extended trading hours, the survey found that one issue concomitantly was poor liquidity, with 83% saying it was a challenge.
